According to an announcement by blockchain engineering company Input Output Hong Kong (IOHK), Cardano smart contracts are now compatible with all types of programming languages. The new development is as a result of the company’s effort to improve the blockchain platform and make it more accessible to users and developers.

Also, the feature will allow developers to effectively write smart contracts for the company. As it stands, over 240,000 contracts now fit into the Cardano blockchain.

Furthermore, the new language compatibility will allow developers to write DApps in Solidity and use them on the Cardano network. With this, developers will begin to enjoy benefits like lower fees, upgraded functionality, enhanced speed, and formally verified security.

The announcement revealed the launch of two smart contract developer platforms named IELE and KEVM. The KEVM Devnet, which uses the Ethereum virtual machine version, will allow developers to apply future or existing Ethereum-based apps on the Cardano network.

With the newly launched OELE platform, developers can now write codes in diverse programming languages. In addition, the IELE environment will enable non-blockchain developers to try blockchain development with no prior knowledge of blockchain programming language.

Currently, Cardano’s native token ADA is down 5.62% and trading at $0.155218. With a market capitalization of about $4.8 billion, ADA has a trading volume of over $1 billion over the last 24 hours.
