Crypto wallet service MyEtherWallet (MEW) has launched EthVM, an open-source blockchain explorer. The newly launched service EthVM will be more conducive to collaboration than Etherscan and Ethplorer, which are not open-source. Also, users will see ETH and ERC20 token transactions on the same platform.

In a press release, the company stated the purpose of providing support to its MyEtherWallet’s users. In the past month, 1.4 million users visited MyEtherWallet’s website. Now, these 1.4 million users, and many more, can access information on wallet balances and transaction statuses with the new service EthVM:

“We believe this will help us to discover use cases and solutions that have not been addressed by blockchain explorers before.”

Speaking to on the new service, MEW vice president Olga Kupchevskaya said the company hopes that the simplicity of the open-source blockchain explorer will motivate more people to share ideas on ETH data processing. In addition, the vice president said that the company also seeks to “remove barriers to entry for developers.”

Founded in 2015, MyEtherWallet is one of the first user-oriented wallet applications for Ethereum (ETH). It was created ten days after the launch of Ethereum. Founder and CEO Kosala Hemachandra said the goal is to become the nexus of Ethereum.
